Ben was raised in a small cabin in the woods of Anchor Point, Alaska. He joined the Army when he was 19 and was unceremoniously stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana. After a 15-month deployment to Iraq in 2003, Ben decided that he would pursue the Military as a career. Subsequently, he earned the coveted Green Beret and joined the elite ranks of the Special Forces.

His years of combat deployments finally caught up to him, and he was medically retired in 2018. Redirecting his focus, Ben turned a hobby into a profession and is now a full-time artist.

Ben's dedication to his family is as strong as his commitment to his art. He now lives on the warm beaches of Florida with his wife and four children, where he is an illustrator, published children's book writer/artist, comic book artist, and regularly shows his art in fine galleries.
